WHY WOMEN BOOK ME

Why book a female photographer in Dubai?

Why women looking for a lady photographer or a female-only photographer in Dubai end up on my number.

Actually a woman behind the camera

I'm the person who turns up. For ladies-only events I work alone, with no male assistant or second shooter. That's the reason you're hiring a female photographer, so I take it seriously.

Cultural fluency, no awkward direction

I photograph Indian, Arab, Emirati and multicultural family events all the time. I know the order of the day, from the joota chupai to the vidaai, so I'm never asking what comes next while it's happening.

Access to women-only rooms

Mehendi rooms, henna nights, the women's side of a ceremony, a godh bharai: the parts of the day a male photographer usually can't attend. Those photos exist because I can be there.

Privacy is the default

Identifiable faces from women-only events never go on my Instagram or website without your written consent. The default is no public sharing, and you can ask me to delete anything at any time.

A quote on WhatsApp, usually within a few hours, and a clear delivery timeline when we book.

CELEBRATIONS & SOLO TRIPS

Women's celebrations: milestone birthdays, bridal showers and solo trips

Some celebrations are simply better with a woman behind the camera. We plan the spot and the light on WhatsApp, I guide your poses, and anything from a women-only gathering stays private.

Milestone birthdays

Bridal showers & ladies' gatherings

Solo female travellers

A milestone birthday with your closest friends, or a family party at home: I keep up with the celebration and catch the laughs as they happen.

Bridal showers, hen parties, ladies' brunches and festive get-togethers, where everyone can relax because it's just us in the room.

SESSIONS I SHOOT

Ladies-only events and women's sessions I photograph

Sessions where you need a ladies-only photographer, or simply prefer a woman in the room. Some are women-only by tradition; some are mixed, and you'd simply rather have a woman behind the camera.

Bride under an orange floral veil

Mehendi & henna nights

Indian mehendi and Arabic henna nights: the side of the evening that's just the women.

Bride in a white gown and long veil

Bridal getting-ready

The bride with her mother, sisters and aunts, getting ready in the room. Comfort matters here.

Bride under a red wedding canopy held over her

Women-only ceremonies and the women's side of Muslim, Arab and Emirati weddings, where only a female photographer can be in the room.

Expecting mum in a red sari at home

Ladies-only baby showers & godh bharai

Ladies-only baby showers: mum, the bump, the aunties and the rituals, without a man in the room.

Expecting mum in a long floral dress at home

Modest maternity

Modest and hijab-friendly maternity at home or a private venue, with full control over what's covered and framed.

Woman's face half hidden behind draped fabric

Women's & modest portraits

Solo portraits, modest and hijab-friendly portraits, milestones and personal-brand photos, with easy direction so it never feels stiff.

Bridal portraits

Family days & mixed events

Before or after the ceremony, with time to get the veil, the jewellery and the light right.

Family portraits, holiday shoots and corporate events too: for these, a woman behind the camera is simply an added comfort.

Tell me which one fits and I'll send a quote.

FEMALE OR MALE PHOTOGRAPHER?

Which events need a female photographer?

For mixed events I work alongside male photographers all the time. For ladies-only spaces, a female photographer is often the only way the photos happen at all.

Women-only spaces

Where a woman behind the camera is the only option.

Examples: Mehendi and henna nights, women-only ceremonies, ladies-only baby showers and godh bharai

Female photographer: Required

Male photographer: Usually not allowed in the room

Why: Women-only by tradition or religious practice

Private & modest sessions

Where most women simply feel more at ease.

Examples: Bridal getting-ready, modest or hijab-friendly maternity, women's portraits

Female photographer: Strongly preferred

Male photographer: Possible, with careful framing

Why: Comfort and privacy, so you can dress and pose freely

Mixed events

Where it makes no difference to the photos.

Examples: Family portraits, holiday shoots, corporate events, engagements

Female photographer: Equally good

Male photographer: Equally good

Why: No difference in access

HOW A SESSION WORKS

From your first message to your photos

1

WhatsApp me your event

The event type (mehendi, baby shower, women-only ceremony, modest maternity), the date and roughly how many guests. I'll send a quote, usually within a few hours. Start on WhatsApp.

2

Lock the date and the plan

Once you're happy with the quote, I hold your date and send a short styling note, a location plan and the parts of the ceremony you'd like covered.

3

Shoot day, just me

I arrive alone for ladies-only events. My direction is mostly visual, so it works smoothly even when there's a language gap.

4

Your photos in around 1 to 2 weeks

Your edited gallery arrives by private download link. Anything from a women-only event stays private unless you tell me otherwise in writing.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Questions about booking a female or lady photographer in Dubai

The questions I'm asked most before a booking. Tap “Read more” to open an answer. Don't see yours? Ask me directly on WhatsApp.

Are you a lady photographer in Dubai?

Yes. I'm Shruti Jain, a female freelance photographer based in Dubai with 15+ years of experience and a 5.0 rating on Google. The woman you message on WhatsApp is the woman who shoots and edits your photos, so if you're looking for a female-only photographer, that's me.

Are you a female-only photographer for ladies' events and henna nights in Dubai?

Yes: henna and mehendi nights, bridal getting-ready, bridal showers, the women's side of a wedding, baby showers and ladies' parties. I come alone, with no male assistant or second shooter, and photos stay private unless you agree in writing.

Do you bring a male assistant or second shooter on ladies-only shoots?

No. For ladies-only events I work fully solo. The reason you're hiring a female photographer is access to a women-only space, and a male assistant would defeat the point. For mixed events, a second shooter is available on request.

Can you photograph a henna night or mehendi at home?

Yes: at home, in a hotel suite or at a private venue. I come alone, photograph the bride, the henna designs and the guests, and nothing identifiable is shared publicly without your written consent.

Can I book a modest photoshoot with a hijab-friendly female photographer in Dubai?

Yes: modest portraits in an abaya or hijab, fully covered sessions and modest maternity. You decide what's covered and how it's framed. We can shoot at your home, a private venue or a quiet outdoor spot, and for women-only sessions I come alone.

Can I book a female photographer for women's celebrations in Dubai, like a milestone birthday or a bridal shower?

Yes: milestone birthdays, bridal showers, hen parties and ladies' brunches. For women-only gatherings I work alone, and no identifiable photo is shared publicly without your written consent.

Can I book a female photographer for a baby shower in Dubai?

Yes: baby showers, gender reveals and godh bharai, at home or at a venue. For a ladies-only baby shower I come alone, so the mum-to-be and her guests can relax.

I'm a solo female traveller in Dubai. Can I book a photoshoot with you?

Of course. Many of my clients are visiting Dubai, and women travelling alone often prefer a female photographer. We plan the spot and the light together on WhatsApp (the beach at sunset, the desert, old Dubai or the skyline), and I direct every pose so you never feel awkward on your own.

Can you cover a Muslim, Arab or Emirati women-only event?

Yes. I regularly photograph Indian-Muslim, Arab and Emirati women-only ceremonies, and I follow the family's privacy norms. If the day runs mostly in Arabic, it helps to have a family member who speaks English nearby so everything runs smoothly.

Are you a female wedding photographer in Dubai?

Yes. I photograph weddings across Dubai, including the women's side of Muslim, Arab and Emirati weddings, bridal getting-ready and mehendi nights, where a female wedding photographer is often the only option. Wedding galleries take around 4–6 weeks.

Do you photograph men or mixed events too?

Yes: mixed events, family sessions, corporate events and holiday photoshoots, regularly. Being a female photographer is an added comfort for some events, not the only thing I do.

Are you a female or lady photographer near me in Dubai?

Wherever you are in Dubai, I come to you, so a “female photographer near me” isn't about the neighbourhood. I shoot anywhere in Dubai, from Downtown, JBR and Palm Jumeirah to Al Fahidi and the Lehbab dunes, and happily travel across the UAE. Send me your area on WhatsApp and I'll tell you what works.

How much does a female photographer cost in Dubai?

It depends on how long the session runs, where it is and how much editing you'd like, so I don't publish a rate card. Tell me what you have in mind on WhatsApp and I'll send a clear quote, usually within a few hours.

How early should I book?

For full-day events, 4–8 weeks ahead is comfortable. For portraits and smaller events, 1–2 weeks is usually fine. October to April is peak season and books out faster, so WhatsApp me your date and I'll confirm availability the same day.

What should I wear for a ladies-only photoshoot?

Whatever you'd wear if no one were photographing you. For a mehendi, choose comfort over couture, as you'll be sitting still for hours. Solid colours photograph better than busy prints under indoor light, and I'll send a styling note before the session if you'd like one.

Will my photos appear on your Instagram or website?

Only with your written consent. For ladies-only events the default is no public sharing: I always ask before posting an identifiable face from a women-only event, and you can ask me to delete anything at any time.

How and when do I get the photos?

Your edited gallery arrives by private download link. Most sessions are delivered in around 1–2 weeks, depending on how much editing is involved. Bigger shoots take a bit longer, and I'll give you a clear timeline when we book.

How do I choose the best female photographer in Dubai?

Dubai has several women photographers, so ask three things before you book. Will the woman you're messaging be the one who shoots and edits your photos? Does she come alone to ladies-only events, or bring a male assistant? And what happens to photos from a women-only event? Then look at her portfolio and read her Google reviews. My answers: you message me, I shoot and edit your photos myself, for ladies-only events I come alone with no male assistant, and nothing identifiable is shared without your written consent.

Still wondering about something?

A BIT MORE ABOUT WORKING WITH ME

Why “female photographer” matters to so many of my clients

When someone searches for female photographers in Dubai, or a lady or ladies photographer, the moment they're picturing is usually private: a mehendi room, a bride getting ready with her mother and sisters, a ladies-only ceremony, a maternity shoot where she just wants the room to feel quiet. Those photos only happen when a woman photographer is the one holding the camera.

That's me. I'm Shruti, a professional female photographer based in Dubai for 15+ years, photographing Indian, Arab and expat families across the city. For ladies-only events I work alone: no male assistant, no second shooter who turns up later. For mixed events, family days and holiday shoots I work like any freelance photographer, and the female-photographer side is simply an added comfort. Tell me about your event on WhatsApp.
